AFC is an organization that helps keep you relevant in your field, prepares you for challenges in your role and enhances your network of professional support.  The camaraderie established among members in AFC provides a foundation for your growth and development that can be sustained throughout your career in higher education.

Networking Opportunities – AFC members have an opportunity to network and share practices with colleagues in similar roles and positions from across the state.  Networking opportunities are available throughout the year.   There’s a place for everyone in AFC.  Whether you are the President, Accounting Clerk, Groundskeeper, Faculty member or Administrative support, AFC can connect you with your colleagues around the state whom also support the mission of AFC.

Leadership – Purposeful leadership is the common thread that encourages growth and development.  AFC has many leadership opportunities for members within its Chapters, Commissions and State leadership team.  The leadership Development Conference presents strategies and resources to enhance leadership skills both at the local and state level.

Legislative Advocacy – AFC legislative advocacy ensures that member institutions and those we serve are represented.  Advocates work tirelessly to address budgetary, academic, and administrative political issues that affect us in higher education.

Professional Development – there are numerous opportunities for professional development within AFC.  Through its regional, annual and commission conferences, members are exposed to a plethora of experiences, programs and  innovations in higher education designed to promote academic and administrative excellence.

Community Service – Community service is a crucial component of many events and activities sponsored by Chapters and Commissions throughout the state.  Each community service project provides members with opportunities to learn more about the community, their customers and other stakeholders serviced by higher education.  Community service is a great way to reach out to those in needs while strengthening resources for the benefit of the greater good.
