Administration Commission

The Administration Commission represents the interests of the community and state college administrative and business affairs staff and provides for effective participation in all areas related to their professional development, welfare, and morale.

Adult and Continuing Education Commission

The Adult and Continuing Education Commission represents the interests of the community and state college personnel who are interested in the development, promotion, and facilitation of Adult and Continuing Education.

Career and Professional Employees Commission

The Career and Professional Employees Commission promotes professional growth and exchange of information among the career and professional (non-administrative, non-faculty) employees.

Communications and Marketing Commission

The Communications and Marketing Commission promotes professional growth and development among commission members, through conferences, seminars, interchanges, idea sharing and other cooperative efforts.  This Commission offers an opportunity for critical partners in a network of fields to make individual community colleges and the statewide system better understood, highly visible and accessible. As active participants in this Commission, we share experiences and skills and find common ground to resolve problems and be successful in our individual roles.

Equity Commission

The Equity Commission provides leadership, advice, counsel and opportunity for professional development on EA/EE matters.

Facilities Commission

The Facilities Commission provides to its membership a collaborative environment for sharing ideas, experiences, and successes.  It promotes best practices and professional development within the multiple disciplines associated with the construction and management of our colleges’ facilities.

Faculty Commission

The Faculty Commission promotes quality leadership and professional service and seeks solutions on matters relating to faculty.  This Commission is known for its best practices shared on teaching and learning as well as its focus on providing a network of resources to faculty throughout higher education.

Healthcare Education Commission

The Healthcare Education Commission promotes legislative awareness, professional development, and recognition of best practices in all areas relating to healthcare education.

Learning Resources Commission

The Learning Resources Commission represents the interests of learning resource personnel within AFC’s member institutions.

Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Professional Development Commission

The Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Professional Development Commission seeks to develop enhance and improve institutional effectiveness, planning, and research strategies and technique.  This Commission is also focused on the best and most relevant practices shared in the area of professional development for all employees within AFC member institutions.

Instructional Innovation Commission

The Instructional Innovation Commission provides for the participation of the faculty members, administrators, and other concerned personnel in all areas relating to curriculum.

Occupational and Workforce Education Commission

The Occupational and Workforce Education Commission represents the interests of Occupational and Workforce Education personnel.

Retirees Commission

The Retirees Commission represents the interests of the Florida College System retirees.

Rural Campuses Commission

The Rural Campuses Commission provides an avenue to address the education, training and economic issues that are unique to rural communities; thus developing a much needed advocacy group, provide a network to share exemplary practices, possible solutions and provide a professional network for faculty, staff and administrators, and to deliver the same quality academic programming, engaging curriculum, enrollment increases, and strive toward sustainability just as large campuses and often times with less resources.

Student Development

The Student Development Commission promotes Student Service Programs throughout the regions and statewide.  This Commission also shares Ideas and enhances professional development by offering quality conferences and workshops.  Additional functions of the Commission include gathering data and conducting surveys relative to various state meetings; coordinating activities with other commissions; acknowledging outstanding student service practices through Exemplary Practice Awards competition; recognizing practitioners who are considered exceptionally effective and active in the local AFC chapter as well as the Student Development Commission through special service awards; and providing a means for exchange of ideas and an update about regional activities through the publication of our newsletter, The Network.

 

Technology Commission

The Technology Commission represents the interests of Florida’s community and state college personnel whose job interests include technology related activities or issues. The Technology Commission strives to enhance student learning, improve institutional effectiveness and promote effective participation in all aspects of technology management, planning, information sharing, eLearning and innovation.

Trustees Commission

The Trustees Commission promotes an understanding of the Florida College System among trustees and serves in liaison capacity to local and State offices and agencies.
